An adolescent is a young person who is transitioning to adulthood. This stage of life is marked by uncertainties, including physical and psychological development that is often challenging for a period of time.
Some individuals going through these transitions can have a hard time managing the challenges which may include: more responsibility, stressful environment, new school and friends, working for the first time, self-image issues, bullying, romantic relationships, and more.
Those who have hard time going through this transition may become selfish, rebellious, and/or arrogant. Fortunately, these behaviors can be managed through therapy which can help the individual develop effective coping skills. More significant treatments may include residential programs and boarding school.
